KIHON ( BASICS )

From Zen Kutsu Dachi Stance perform:

Kin Geri Chudan Tsuki, (Kick to the groin & punch to the body )
Kin Geri Uratsuki (Kick to the groin and Uratsuki)


KERI ( KICKS )

From Hanmi Gamae, perform:

Mawashi geri chudan ( roundhouse kick)
Mae Geri Chudan ( front kick )
Yoko Geri Chudan ( side kick )
Ren Raku Waza ( Kicking Combinations)


UCHI ( STRIKES )

From Uchi Hachi Dachi, perform:

Sakotsu Shuto Uchi ( Downward knifehand)
Mawashi Uchi ( Hook Punch )
Yoko Ganmen Uraken ( Back Fist - side)


UKE ( BLOCKS )

From Uchi Hachi Dachi, perform :

Chudan Haito Uke (ridgehand - outward)
Soto Uke ( Outward - closed fist )
Soto Harai Uke (open hand,low,outward)
Uchi Harai uke (open hand, low, inward)


IPPON KUMITE

Performed from Hanmi Gamae, Uke ( Blocker ) can choose their own block and counter, to the following pre-determined attacks:

Attack 1 = Kizama Tsuki Jodan
Attack 2 = Mawashi Geri Jodan
Attack 3 = Gyakuzuki Chudan
Attack 4 = Mae Geri Chudan

Each technique must be performed from both left and right stance. Blocks and counters must be effective !!


JIYU KUMITE

The karate-ka must be able to demonstrate good control and varied technique whilst free fighting with a student of a similar or higher grade. Good fighting spirit is of the utmost importance.
